THE TRUTH ABOUT NIGERIAN POLITICS FOR YOU

The rich get richer & enjoys, the poor man gets poorer and surfers in agony.   It is quite trategic that this issue of the removal of fuel subsidy has now been real and known to all Nigerians. Sometimes, i ask this question to the whole world, ''are nigerian politicans truely learnered and knowledgeable, or do they rely on their special advisers in other to embark on certain decisions that will inturn ruin the life of the poor masses that elected them?''. I never said subsidy removal is bad, but Nigeria as a whole has not yet got what it takes to engage themselves into subsidy removal, because of the mismanagement of the industrial refineries and other infrastructures.   Nevertheless, the subsidy removal has no meaning for me as far as am concerned. Now look at the factors involved and their side effects on the Nigerian economy as a whole: - agricultural sector, - industrial sector, - transportational sector, etc.  Now when we look at these major factors, we consider the fact that all of them need fuel as a source of power to run their machines effectively for maximum production. For example, if fuel is sold at N65 transport from abia state to abuja would be lets say N3,000, but if its sold at N150 a litre, that same abia to abuja transport would be even N6,5000 or more, which is economically refered to as ''INFLATION'' which means that money is loosing its value. Large quantity of money can only buy fewer goods & services. Here, you see that Nigerian currency is drastically depreciating with force.  We talk about fuel because thats part of the fraction of crude oil that the poor masses are using together with the rich politicians, we are not even considering kerosine, gas and disel because majority of the politians do not use them. Its quite unfortunate and aphauling that my so called president would remove subsidy of fuel knowing fully well that Nigeria has no functionable refinery.   Now the commercial sector of the economy is going to increase the cost of the goods and services just to meet up to the needs of this country.   This is just a tip of the ice berg. In my next article, i'll reveal more to you about this issue, i hope you enjoyed it all.           Writen by:        Nwabuisi Dennis
